Dehydration Causes Cravings

Did you know that when your body needs water, it may feel like a craving for a tasty food?  This is because we are so used to running to food when we physiologically have a need.  Next time you have a craving, try drinking a glass of water, then wait five minutes.  If you still have the food craving, allow yourself to have one serving of whatever you are desiring, and for a bonus, don't eat the last two bites.

To make sure you're hydrated, follow this equation:
-Take your body weight.
-Divide it by two.
-That number is the number in OUNCES that YOUR body needs (per day) to be hydrated.
-Begin to drink that amount of water throughout the day!
Example:  120 pound person divided by 2 = 60 ounces per day.

If this seems like a lot of water, start with a little.  Today just have eight more ounces than you did yesterday and allow yourself a month to build up to the total number of ounces.
